What We Treat & How We Treat It

Into Action Recovery supports men dealing with alcohol use, drug use, or both. Our inpatient programs are built on structure, accountability, and long-term recovery, with clear steps that help men stabilize, address the drivers behind substance use, and rebuild daily life.

How to Know When Treatment Is Needed

Substance use is not always obvious at first. Treatment may be needed when patterns of use start taking control and daily life begins to suffer.

Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol use can develop gradually and stay hidden for years while consequences build. Many men continue to function at work or home while losing control, experiencing withdrawal symptoms, or repeatedly failing to cut back. Alcohol rehab provides structured support to stabilise, address the patterns that sustain drinking, and build long-term recovery.

Drug Addiction

Drug addiction and use can escalate quickly, especially when tolerance, withdrawal symptoms, or polysubstance use are present. Many men try to stop using drugs but return under stress or familiar patterns. Drug rehab provides structured inpatient support to help addicted men stabilize, break the cycle, and build long term recovery.

We Help Men Recover From

Different substances carry different risks, withdrawal patterns, and relapse considerations. While treatment principles remain consistent, care is adapted based on substance history and individual needs.

Questions That Matter for Your Recovery.

Find answers to common concerns about our treatment programs, admission process, and what to expect during your journey at Into Action.

Our primary goal is to help residents achieve long term sobriety and we are not a medical facility, we, like most other BC supportive recovery residences, do not have doctors or nurses on-site, we have partnered with virtual healthcare providers or residents may also choose their own doctor to ensure that residents have access to medical support and medication management as needed.
No. Our primary goal is to assist our residents in achieving abstinence from problematic substance use. We are not a medical/mental health facility. We do understand that mental health conditions are often paired with addiction, and we support all residents’ mental health protocols prescribed by the residents mental health team if applicable.

We offer both educational wellness and addiction groups daily, that provide valuable information and support to help residents understand their addiction and develop healthy coping strategies; and daily group therapy sessions that offer residents the opportunity to connect with others who are going through similar experiences, providing a sense of community and support. We expose our residents to several pathways to recovery which may include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Twelve-step groups, SMART Recovery, and wellness groups. Participation in all groups is mandatory.

Yes. Residents are brought to support meetings in the community, out shopping, on walks and hikes, and other activities that provide residents with the opportunity to engage in enjoyable and enriching activities outside of the residence, helping to promote socialization and integration into the community. Additionally, once a resident is no longer on restrictions, they have the ability to request permission to leave the premises on an outing of their choosing.
We encourage family support and involvement as it is a key component to the recovery process. Communications can start after the restriction period, and only to the degree the resident desires.
